Well, but at this point going Poncho+Muncie for the lulz would be more in service of perversity than anything else, and would mean making holes and bodging up something that's... honestly fine and groovy, but not on a high enough tier that it has to be made *right*. It's not a show rod, so doing things one would like to see in a show rod isn't necessarily the best use of time. End product: a home-made '27 that now has... some extra holes in it. And can be shifted manually.

OTOH, a swap to 318 + torqueflite would be perverse *and* not require as much cutting - maybe.
